Small Group Opportunities

Looking to connect with people outside of Sunday morning worship? Join us during the week for a small group and get to know people a little better. Fill out the form down below to let us know if you would like more information!

Small Groups- We offer a wide variety of small groups and book studies throughout the year, typically lasting three to six weeks, as a way to learn more about various topics associated with Christianity, but also as a means of connecting with others outside of Sunday morning worship.

Spirituality and Aging - Announcing the upcoming series lead by Pastor Jane Voigts, "Spirituality and Aging." This 4 week exploration of your personal spirituality as it relates to the aging process will begin in late February. More information to come!

Sunday Night Live Book Club- This is the church's book group. Sunday Night Live meets Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 7 pm when in session. The club just finished reading and discussing Days of Awe and Wonder: How to be a Christian in the 21st Century by Marcus Borg. The next study will begin in March and is lead by Poul Bahnson.

Life Groups - Let's do life together in 2020! No one needs to go through the journey of life alone. Life groups meet weekly for 10 weeks, coming together for prayer, sharing, and fellowship. Too often we are asked "how are you doing?" and we respond with a disingenuous "I'm okay." Life Groups help us to go beyond the surface level and provide a safe space to ask "how are you really doing?" Life Groups are a chance to get to know people in your community better so we can build new friendships and build on existing relationships. Church is a family, so get to know your family this year! Signups for Life Group begins January 12, 2020 and can be filled out here online, or at the Welcome Table at worship on Sunday morning . Life Groups will be groups of 8-12 that will meet for 10 weeks between February 1 and Easter on April 12th.

Adult Sunday School- This drop-in style study meets Sunday after the 11 am worship service, starting at 12 pm in the Walker Smith building at church. There is no need to RSVP and no fear if you miss one (or several) weeks of the group. Each lesson will be independent and offer unique insight into the season or the sermon. Gatherings will be led by the Director of Christian Education, Jeremy Wells.

United Methodist Women- The United Methodist Women (UMW) meet on the first Wednesday of the month (from October through May) to discuss mission opportunities and to connect with each other on a more personal and spiritual basis. The next meeting will take place on February 5th at 10 am.

United Methodist Men- This group meets every Wednesday morning for breakfast at 7:15 am at Rick's Cafe , all are welcome (yes, even women!) In addition to breakfast, we will have time for devotion and for fellowship.
