Our Sermon This Week - 3/1/26
One of the most remarkable characteristics of the "Historical Jesus" - and we see it throughout the gospels - was his passion for practicing radical compassion. Where did that fervor come from, and what can he teach us about radical compassion for such a time as this?
Scriptures: Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26

I am thrilled to lead this congregation in all the ways it says “yes” to sharing God’s love - and Kingdom Party - with our community. Food for Lent
As we enter this season of Lent, instead of asking, “What am I going to give up?” consider, “What am I going to give of?” UMCPS is partnering with Transgender Health and Wellness Center of Palm Springs to support a new food bank serving unhoused and food-insecure members of the transgender community who need shelf-stable items that require only a microwave. Beginning Sunday, February 22, and continuing the following two Sundays, a collection bin will be available in the narthex for donations, including flip-top canned goods (soups, chili, pasta), sealed jar items (peanut butter, applesauce, pickles), and shelf-stable foods (breakfast or protein bars, Hormel Compleat meals). This is a meaningful way to bless our neighbors, share God’s love, and bring a little of God’s party to those in need. Thank you for your generosity!

🌈 All Means All!
We are a proud member of the Reconciling Ministries Network. We support and welcome all people regardless of age, race, economic or marital status, gender identity or sexual orientation.
United Methodist Church of Palm Springs is blessed to have a leadership team who each do their part to help us make a good difference in the world.
We are committed to helping you connect with life-giving community and to make a positive difference in the world.
We are all about helping people find community connection within a faith context. At UMCPS, we encourage each person to be themselves: to bring their questions, their doubts, their sexual identity, their deepest passions and values - and lean into the community with trust. A lot of people move to the Coachella Valley looking for a deep sense of community in the second half of life - each year, more folks discover this at UMCPS, often in ways that defy expectations.
We do a lot to try to bless our neighbors. We are in the kitchen several times each week, preparing meals for hungry neighbors. We provided a Cooling Center for homeless neighbors through much of 2021. We care about seniors who face increased life challenges in the later years of their lives. We care deeply about racial equity - supporting our local Black Lives Matter movement. We are invested in LGBTQ civil rights and full social inclusion. We care about kids in our community, especially kids who are living in poverty or who are at risk of violence. On any of these fronts, there are regular ways for you to become involved and join us in blessing our neighbors - and church membership is not required!
About Us & Our Core Values
● Embrace Hospitality – We seek to cultivate a greater sense of authentic community in our valley, by embracing all of God’s children with hospitality and respect. All means all.
● Nurture Spiritualty – Spirituality is a Journey, lived across a lifetime - not a destination. We seek to encourage and to challenge one another toward a beautiful journey in the Way of Jesus.
● Serve Hope – We are committed to serving our neighbors, grounded in the hope that life really can get better for all of us.
● Play! - God is a never-ending fount for joy in life. We choose to live in God’s joy, with a spirit of lightheartedness and humor permeating our life together.
Life Groups
One much-loved part of life at United Methodist Church of Palm Springs is our Life Groups. Life Groups are not Bible studies, and they are not simply fellowship times. They are intentional gatherings in order to develop a sense of spiritual community.
Meet Our Team
United Methodist Church of Palm Springs is blessed to have a leadership team who truly loves to bring Gods Party.
