01 - Potluck Luncheon Volunteers

DESCRIPTION: Help with set-up before Potluck, serve food during Potluck and clean-up following the event.
TIME-FRAME: The Potluck luncheon occurs every other month and time commitment is only the day of Potluck.

02 - UMCPS Rainbow Ministries
CONTACT: Brian Willis (brianwesleywillis@gmail.com)
DESCRIPTION: If you are passionate about issues that impact the LGBTQ population, we would love to know who you are as we seek to organize projects and work with community partners. Sign up to be on this list if you are open to volunteering with opportunities as they arise during 2026. Rainbow Ministries also sponsors fellowship events. No need to sign up now for those. The fellowship opportunities will be included in all-church communications and are open to all.

03 - Soul Circles
CONTACT: Joyce Nugent (soulcircles@umcps.org)
DESCRIPTION: Soul Circles are gatherings where real connection comes first. They can happen anywhere, around a table, on a hike, in a classroom, or out in the community, and are designed to meet people right where they are. No pressure, no prerequisites, just a space to belong and be yourself. Each Soul Circle has its own flavor, some focus on conversation, creativity, service, music, or shared interests. but all are rooted in building relationships, exploring spirituality, and experiencing joy together. They’re flexible and always evolving, just like the people in them.

04 - Sunday Morning Hospitality and Worship
CONTACT: Doug Oostdyk (d.oostdyk2@gmail.com)
DESCRIPTION: Welcome worshipers at door and/or the Welcome Table, provide name tags
Ushers: Help worshipers find a seat, collect offering
Communion Servers: Offer bread or cup. (We will provide training.)
Help Decorate Sanctuary for major holidays

05 - Calling and Cards Ministry
CONTACT: Carrie Allan (Carobpt@dc.rr.com)
DESCRIPTION: Call homebound members and those in need of extra care; send cards for holidays, birthdays, etc., share God’s love with the lonely and isolated. You will be given a list of 5 people to contact on a regular basis
TIME–FRAME: About 30 minutes to 1 hr. once or twice a month (at your convenience during daytime or early evenings)

06 - Feeding Ministries
CONTACT: John Jones (eaglesnakecactus@sbcglobal.net)
DESCRIPTION: Help prepare and serve food, find clothing that fits, offer free toiletries and books, provide a loving and dignified atmosphere.
TIME-FRAME: Sunday and Friday breakfast served 7-8 a.m. This is when we most need volunteers, starting at 6:15 am either morning, with clean up after. (There is also a Saturday noon meal; if that is your best time, we can add you into rotation.)

07 - Music Ministry

DESCRIPTION: Choral singing, instrumental performance, small vocal ensembles, soloists, and praise band make up the multiple facets of this unique ministry — and God is in the center of it all! ALL ARE WELCOME! You don’t need to be a pro!
TIME-FRAME: Varies, but each group has a regular rehearsal through the year. Choir meets Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.

08 - Ministry Team with Students After School at Raymond Cree Middle School

DESCRIPTION: The After School Christian Club is a fun, welcoming space where students gather to connect, explore faith, and support one another. Through games, conversation, and shared stories, we build friendships and grow together. It’s relaxed, encouraging, and full of heart—a place where everyone belongs and every voice matters.
TIME-FRAME: To be determined in conjunction with school administrators.

09 - Livestream and Tech Team
CONTACT: Joyce Nugent (jrn.cfs@gmail.com).
DESCRIPTION: Whether you have experience with audio, livestreaming, or video—or are eager to learn—we’d love to have you on the team. Training is provided. This is a great opportunity to build new skills while serving and making a difference.
TIME-FRAME: Flexible and tailored to each volunteer’s availability.
Livestream Team: Support our Sunday morning livestream ministry as a backup operator. Volunteers serve on Sundays when available and receive training to confidently assist with livestream production. If interested, please contact Kyle at kyle@umcps.org
