Life Groups are Returning!

  • Explore Spirituality and Recovery
New 6-Week Life Group Starting September 8, 2025 at 5 PM

"Having successfully completed our first two Spirituality and Recovery Life Groups, I can report that these conversations have been some of the most meaningful I’ve ever experienced. Join us!" — Tom Baker

This group is a safe, welcoming space to explore the connection between faith and recovery—whether you're on your own recovery journey or supporting someone you love. We’ll meet weekly for six weeks starting Monday, September 8 at 5 PM at Tom’s home. Open to anyone interested in recovery and spiritual growth. For more details, contact Tom Baker at 760-898-7588 or tcatsf@gmail.com.

  • Voices Reclaimed Life Group

    Saturdays, Sept 13 – Dec 6, 2025 (every other Saturday) | 9:30–11:00 AM | Walker Smith Building

The rise of Christian Nationalism is threatening the freedom and fairness we’ve long depended on. Voices Reclaimed offers a space to honestly process what’s happening, explore how it affects us, and consider how we can respond with hope and purpose.

This fall, we’ll begin with a book study of How to End Christian Nationalism by Amanda Tyler, facilitated by Kay Brown. Through thoughtful conversation and shared reflection, we’ll reclaim our voices and rediscover our power—individually and as a community.

Seven sessions are planned, meeting every other Saturday.

  • NEW QWEST SERIES Life Group

Legacy & Liberation: A Queer Call to Action

    Sundays, Sept 21 – Oct 26, 2025 | 6:00–7:30 PM | Walker Smith Building

Join us for a powerful six-week QWEST series exploring the rich, resilient, and often hidden history of queer people through a spiritual lens. Each week, we’ll uncover sacred stories, pivotal moments, and courageous figures that have shaped queer identity—and connect them to a present-day call for justice, advocacy, and transformation.

Weekly Themes Include: Stonewall & the Sacred Spark, Saints of Resistance, AIDS, Activism & the Body of Christ, Transcending Erasure, From Closet to Communion, Queer Advocacy as Spiritual Practice.

Come to remember. Come to reclaim. Come to rise. All are welcome.

  • There is a Hiking Life Group, Co-led by Joyce Nugent and Richard Clapp. Our Hiker’s Life Group will meet for six weeks on Friday mornings. Looking to connect with others, experience God in nature, and get some exercise? Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just starting out, you are welcome. Together, we’ll explore the beautiful trails of the Coachella Valley, grow in faith, and build lasting relationships. For more information, please contact Joyce at jrn.cfs@gmail.com

  • There is an ongoing Men’s Breakfast, which functions as a Life Group in many ways: each Wednesday morning at 7:15 am at Rick’s Restaurant on the corner of Palm Canyon and Vista Chino.  Doug Oostydk is the group organizer - open to all - just show up!

  • Our new Women’s Lunch Fellowship aka "Lunch Ladies" meets a couple of times a month and has grown quite popular. Lunch Ladies meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month at 11:30 am.  The first Monday is at various locations; the third Monday is always a brown bag lunch in the Walker Smith building on the church campus. You'll find soulmates in spirit among us, alongside laughter, camaraderie, and meaningful connections.
